Graduate Research Fellowship (GRF) Projects
Through the Graduate Research Fellowships, the NERRS provides funds and logistical support for Master’s and PhD level graduate research occurring within NERR components. Students conduct research within the Reserves on issues of importance to local managers. These Fellowships prove a stipend of $20,000 per year and are renewable for three years. The fellowship encourages strong collaboration between the graduate students and the NERR program by requiring the graduate students to participate in Reserve activities as part of their fellowship. This ensures that new information provided by the graduate work is rapidly translated into educational programs.
